MedPets

Your MedPet is ready for adoption! This virtual friend needs your help navigating the often complicated world of medication, staying consistent, and listening to your body. Use your knowledge to play together, collecting the items you need and then feeding them to your pet. Let bonds grow as you learn how medication and daily life work together, creating a better life for you and your pet! 

This project was made in collaboration with the research being conducted by Dr. Li-Chen Lin, PhD, RN, CNRN, at the University of Texas at Austin School of Nursing, focusing on coaching and training individuals where English is not their primary language, to understand their medication and pharmacy instructions. This project focuses on teaching through engagement and experience, focusing on puzzle games and virtual pet management. 

This project is part of the AET Games for Good class, focusing on furthering research and using game technology to make the world a better place. MedPets was developed as part of health education research supported by the Health IT SPARK Grant from the University of Texas at Austin, School of Nursing, Center for Healthcare Innovation and Technology Advancement!
